2010 Summer Reading Program Draws to Close

 

On Saturday, 7 August 2010, participants of the Summer Reading Program met at the Library for a PIZZA PARTY.  After sharing pizza, snacks, and a lovely “swimming pool” cupcake cake, participants received goodie bags and certificates.  Top Readers in each grade category received passes to the Erie Zoo while the over Top Reader received pass to Spalsh Lagoon.

Ivy Weatherby, Top Reader in the 2nd-4th grade category

Madelyn Kapfhammer was the Top Reader for the whole program!

 

 

Top Reader in the Prek-1st grade category was Aaron Royer.

Top Reader in the 5th grade and up category was  Alex Suder.

We are all looking forward to next summer’s reading program.

What’s happening at the library?

Several groups have chosen the Cochranton Area Public Library as their meeting venue, and it is easy to see why!  After all, in addition to the library itself, there are three rooms of various size equipped with tables and chairs for small gatherings.   Groups also have access to a small kitchen for preparing snacks,  the wifi for those with a laptop,  and our copier, which comes in handy when more people show up than originally planned.

Here is a list of groups that are currently taking advantage of our meeting spaces:

Library Board  /   3rd Monday, 7pm-finished  /  Open and welcoming to patrons

Fair Board   /  4th Monday, 7-8pm  /  Closed

Photo Club   /   1st and 3rd Wednesday, 6:30 to 8pm   /  Open

Women’s Club   /    Every 3rd Friday, 12:30 pm   /   Please contact the leader of this club (Meetings are over for the summer and will begin again in September.)

CHS Class of ‘75 Reunion Planning Committee / Every 3rd Wednesday,  6-8pm / Closed

Children’s Summer Reading Program / Every Saturday 11-noon June 19-August7/Please register

Art Classes for Children / Every Tuesday, 12-2pm / Open

Art Classes for Adults / Every Tuesday, 2-5pm / Open
